Third Grade

Hello CJDS friends and family! I am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful community of educators, parents, and students. This is my fifth year at CJDS, and my ninth year teaching 3rd grade. I’ve also taught 6th grade science and ELA and PreK students, but I’ve settled on 3rd grade as my favorite! This year is a very pivotal year. Students often find this is a year of discovery for many aspects of life.

I grew up in Southern Illinois (Go SIU Salukis!), moved to Sleepy Hollow, New York (Go Giants!) in 2000, and moved to North Carolina in 2014. While in NY, I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and my master’s degree in Literacy Education. I also met my husband, Greg, in NY and we have two amazingly energetic and hilarious boys, Elliott (6) and Sawyer (8). On the weekends, we often spend our time with family in Asheville hiking and finding waterfalls. I love to work in my garden, read, and just be outside with my family.
