Jessica Felter

Second Grade

Hello! My name is Jessie Felter and I am the second grade teacher here at CJDS! In 2006, I graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Literacy Education, focusing on working with students with disabilities. I began teaching at Chets Creek Elementary in Jacksonville, Florida. I taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades at Chets Creek before my husband and I moved to Charlotte. I taught 3rd grade at Windsor Park Elementary before I joined the CJDS family. I love getting to be a part of this wonderful school! My favorite parts of the year are our school celebrations (especially Hanukkah and Lag B’Omer) and our field trips.

When I’m not at school, I like to spend time with my husband, Rustin, and our puppy, Pablo. We like taking Pablo to the dog park and everyone in my neighborhood knows him. I also love to read, travel, run, cook, and hike. Last year, I got to help with our CJDS running club, and I’m excited to run the 5k with them again this year. I look forward to getting to know your families better throughout this school year!
