Ms. Amy Cerbelli attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, majoring in Elementary Education. There, she participated in a 5-year program called ProTeach, which included a Master of Education degree. After graduating, she moved to Charlotte in 2003 where she started her teaching career as a substitute.
Prior to coming to CJDS, she taught 4th grade for two years at Mountain Island Elementary within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system. She is originally from St. Petersburg, Florida. Ms. Cerbelli’s professional interests include discovery learning, hands-on experiences in math and science, and teaching reading using authentic literature. She strives for her students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers who have a life-long love of learning. Her outside interests include painting, swimming, exercising, watching college football, traveling, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
